Classes at IDTC
IDTC holds three to five class sessions per year. Classes meet for an hour a week for six weeks, and we have a graduation party on the seventh week. Classes are normally held at the Cornell Livestock Pavilion at 48 Judd Falls Road in Ithaca. Occasionally the Pavilion is unavailable and classes are held elsewhere, most commonly at 4-H Acres on Lower Creek Rd.
Entry-level classes are open to the public, and you may sign up for the next session at any time. They are usually held on Wednesdays, and a full set of classes is offered each session. More advanced Obedience and Rally classes and Agility classes are open to Club members; non-members may be accepted with approval of the Training Director. There is a defined sign-up period for these classes, a few weeks before the start of each session. Advanced Obedience is usually on Tuesdays and Agility on Fridays. Not all classes are available in all sessions; see below for a list of current classes.
Please note that IDTC is unable to accept aggressive or reactive dogs in our classes. If you are concerned that your dog is aggressive or reactive to people or other dogs, please ask for your vet for a referral to a certified animal behaviorist.
